Community Lunch & Learns
 
HBEC is commited to teaching Detroit's seniors and their families about aging and health. Each FREE learning series includes two to three presentations by experts on various health topics, a brief overview of the HBEC and it's resources, and a question-and-answer segment. Participants especially appreciate being able to interact with doctors, health educators and HBEC staff in a relaxed setting.
FREE refreshments are served.

Summer Training Workshop on African American Aging Research
 
The MCUAAAR Summer Training Workshop is held at the Program for Research on Black Americans, Michigan Center for Urban African American Aging Research Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.
 
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS:

James S. Jackson, University of Michigan, Institute for Social Research, Program for Research on Black Americans
 
Main Objectives:
Identify and mentor investigators of multicultural backgrounds who are committed to conducting African American aging research. Contribute to the improvement of the quality and quantity of research conducted with the African American aging population.
